Prayer for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with Evidence of Tongues

Sample Prayer for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit

Jesus, You are My Lord. Thank You for saving me, cleansing me and freeing me with Your blood. I submit to You as Lord and King, and thank You for making me a new creation, and bringing me into Your kingdom.

When You left this earth, You promised to send a gift to disciples… the baptism of the Holy Spirit with evidence of speaking in tongues. Jesus, please baptize me now, with the Holy Spirit and fire, just as You did in the upper room, releasing in me the manifestation of that gift with evidence of speaking in an unknown tongue. Thank You, Jesus, for this gift. I receive it now.

John 20:22 This is when the disciples were born again, by Jesus breathing on them. They received the person of the Holy Spirit in regeneration.

Acts 1:5 This, which Jesus spoke of is not the work of Holy Spirit in a new creation, but a baptism with fire.

Acts 2:1: “…all believers were meeting together…” The prerequisite of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the new birth.

Acts 2:38: “Each of you must repent…turn to God…then you will receive the gift…” The prerequisite of the baptism of the Holy Spirit is the new birth and turning to God, which is full complete surrender.
